General English Courses

ESBM General English courses focus on the four main language skills- reading, writing, listening and speaking.

General English language -10 hours, 15 hours and 20 hours courses.

The East Midlands School of Business and Management (ESBM) is committed to providing high quality professional English language courses based on the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR) and referenced to Cambridge exam requirements.

ESBM provides a full range of quality English language courses delivered by appropriately qualified and experienced teachers. They are designed to improve students’ understanding and develop their command of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The selection and level of the English language course will be based on the results of the initial placement test.

ESBM Courses offers the following advantages

The range of courses offered by ESBM is as follows:

All levels of English language from beginner to proficiency are catered for throughout the year at ESBM. By the end of each course students will see an overall improvement to their English language proficiency as well as an improved confidence in their English language ability, particularly spoken and written communication.

Beginner (A0- A1)

No prior knowledge of English Total contact hours = 180 hours & 36 hours testing/self-study.

Duration: 12 weeks-15 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library.

Elementary (A1)  Total contact hours = 180 hours & 36 hours testing/self-study.

Duration: 12 weeks -15 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library.

Pre-Intermediate (A2) Total contact hours = 192 hours & 36 hours testing/self-study.

Duration: 12 weeks-16 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library.

Intermediate (B1) (Total contact hours = 216 hours & 36 hours testing/self-study).

Duration: 12 weeks (18 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library).

Upper-Intermediate (B2) Total contact hours = 216 hours & 36 hours testing/self-study.

Duration: 12 weeks -18 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library.

Advanced (C1) Total contact hours = 216 hours & 54 hours testing/self-study.

Duration: 12 weeks -18 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library.

Proficiency (C1) Total contact hours = 216 hours & 54 hours testing/self-study.

Duration: 12 weeks - 18 contact hours - 1 and half hours test weekly; we will choose a day that we wish to administer the tests & 1 and half hours self-study homework/computers in the library.
